Manchester United legend highlights key factors behind David Silva’s GREAT form for Man City

Sky Sports pundit Gary Neville believes Manchester City are finally getting the best out of Spanish playmaker David Silva.

The 29-year-old has been in stunning form during all three of City’s opening games of the season and turned in a man-of-the-match performance against Everton on Sunday afternoon as the visitors maintained their perfect start to the campaign.

Aleksandar Kolarov and Samir Nasri were the scorers in the 2-0 victory at Goodison Park, but it was Silva who stole the show as he once again pulled the strings in midfield as he was operating in his favoured no.10 role just behind the lone striker.

Neville says the addition of Raheem Sterling, the inclusion of Jesus Navas on the flanks and a fit-again Sergio Aguero is having a positive influence and is allowing Silva to flourish:

“He picked up the ball so much – he was connecting everything, like the glue that was holding everything together, the former Manchester United defender said on his own Sky Sports Podcast.

“He’s now got pace all around him with Raheem Sterling, Jesus Navas, Kolarov and Sergio Aguero.”

“Last season, they didn’t have that pace in the team – Aguero was on and off form, Sterling wasn’t at the club, Navas was in and out of the team.”

“When you put all that pace back in, it makes Silva’s job so much easier because he can just feed that pace,” Neville added.

Silva will be hoping to continue his sensational form when newly promoted Watford visit the Etihad Stadium next Saturday.
