Manchester City duo react to being drawn in Champions League ‘group of death’

Manchester City duo Vincent Kompany and David Silva have taken to social media and given their reaction to the UEFA Champions League draw.

The Citizens have been handed arguably the toughest draw out of all the Barclays Premier League teams as their group contains Serie A champions and last season’s finalists Juventus, Bundesliga outfit Borussia Monchengladbach and reigning Europa League winners Sevilla.

It’s the fifth successive season for City in European football’s elite club competition and they will be hoping to progress past the last 16 after being knocked out at that stage for the last two seasons in a row.

The current leaders of the Premier League have invested heavily in their squad over the summer with the arrivals of Raheem Sterling and Nicolas Otamendi and there should be no reason for the Blues to not make at least the quarter-finals.

Whilst many in the media predict City could struggle in the group, Kompany and Silva posted messages via their respective official Twitter accounts to welcome the challenge that awaits them.
