Nathaniel Chalobah is set to become the 27th Chelsea player to leave Stamford Bridge on loan this summer.
According to the Daily Express, the England Under-21 international is finalising a temporary move to Serie A outfit Napoli, and has arrived in Italy to undergo the remaining formalities of the agreement.
The 20-year-old has been with the Chelsea academy since the age of 10, but is yet to threaten for a position in the senior squad, having spent the last five seasons on loan at Watford, Nottingham Forest, Middlesbrough, Burnley and Reading.
Ruben Loftus-Cheek is currently ahead of Chalobah in the pecking order, which has left him with little choice but to seek first-team action – once more – away from west London.
He will join the likes of Patrick Bamford, Christian Atsu, Mohamed Salah and Juan Cuadrado in sealing a loan move this summer, and will too surely be analysing whether he really has a future with the reigning English champions.
