Chelsea striker Diego Costa hit with FA violent conduct charge following Arsenal fracas

Stamford Bridge man could be hit with three-match ban.

Chelsea forward Diego Costa has been hit with a violent conduct charge following his altercation with both Arsenal defenders Laurent Koscielny and Gabriel Paulista according to the BBC.

The 26-year-old Brazilian born Spanish international appeared hit French centre-back Koscielny in the face twice before clashing with Gabriel, who was then sent off for his part in the incident, a decision Arsenal are set to appeal.

If Chelsea accepts accepts the charge Costa will serve a three-match suspension with immediate effect however, if the ban is contested then an independent regulatory commission will rule.

Chelsea face Walsall, Newcastle and Southampton in their next three domestic fixtures and as such Mourinho may feel the time is right to accept the ban.
