It’s not going well for Tottenham Hotspur winger Andros Townsend, who looks like he could be on the brink of an exit from White Hart Lane.
After pushing over club fitness coach Nathan Gardiner on the pitch at White Hart Lane on Monday evening, following Spurs’ victory over Aston Villa, Townsend was punished by Mauricio Pochettino. The Argentine coach dropped the England international for the Lilywhites’ Europa League meeting with Anderlecht in midweek as a punitive measure.
While the manager insisted that the wideman has a future at the club, a quartet of Premier League clubs have been linked to the player.
Newcastle United, Sunderland, West Bromwich Albion and Aston Villa are all understood to be keen on Townsend, who may be forced to sever ties with his beloved Tottenham in order to help his career progress.
However, it’s not all doom and gloom for Townsend.
While things haven’t been going well on the pitch of late, Andros has the delicious Hazel O’Sullivan to go come to.
