12 Villa losses

Aston Villa have lost 12 of their 17 league games so far this season and so are unsurprisingly rock bottom of the table. They only have seven points on the board and need a miracle to avoid relegation.

11 Vardy goals

The Leicester City striker astonishingly broke Manchester United legend Ruud van Nistelrooy’s record of scoring in successive Premier League games with 11 in a row between August 29 and November 28.

10 De Bruyne goals or assists

A combined 10 goals and assists is the return that Manchester City have gotten so far on massive £55m buy Kevin de Bruyne, fee reported by BBC Sport. Chelsea must regret letting the Belgian go.

9 Chelsea defeats

The Blues are making the worst defence of the title in Premier League history. They have lost nine of their first 17 games and are 20 points off top spot at Christmas. Can Guus Hiddink lead a recovery?

8 Points between 4th & 12th

Two spots in the top four are completely up for grabs. There are currently only eight points between Tottenham Hotspur in fourth and Southampton in 12th. Plenty of clubs will be quietly confident.

7 Ozil assists

Mesut Ozil is to assists what Jamie Vardy is to goals. Supplying goals in a seven matches in a row was a new Premier League record for the sublime Arsenal playmaker. He is way out in front with 15 in total.

6 Kane blanks

Some threw the one-season wonder tag at Harry Kane after he went six games without scoring at the start of the season. The Tottenham Hotspur forward has since found his form to bag nine in 11.

5 Managers gone

Dick Advocaat, Tim Sherwood, Brendan Rodgers, Garry Monk and, most notably, Jose Mourinho have lost their jobs since the start of the season. According to The Sun, Louis van Gaal could be next.

4 0-0 draws

And one of the main reasons for that could be Manchester United’s boring style of football. They have played out four 0-0 draws, three of which have been at Old Trafford. Fergie wouldn’t have stood for it!

3 Sturridge starts

Daniel Sturridge has been crocked by injury again this season, managing just three league starts. Liverpool’s other strikers have not been able to step up and that is why they are down in ninth.

2 Point lead

Thanks to the heroics of Vardy and Riyad Mahrez among others, Leicester are the shock leaders at Christmas. They hold a two-point advantage over Arsenal. They can’t go all the way, can they?!

1 Goal against Kompany

Vincent Kompany makes a huge difference to Manchester City when he plays. In the eight games in which he has started, they have only conceded one goal compared to 18 in the nine he has missed.
