Arsenal and Man United scouts watch in-form Premier League playmaker

Scouting teams from both Manchester United and Arsenal are reported to be keeping a close watch on Leicester City star Riyad Mahrez and were in attendance to see him play a part in the Foxes goalless draw with Manchester City earlier this week, according to French publication Le Buteur.

They were joined by representatives of Liverpool and tottenham Hotspur, as interest in the Algerian international continues to grow.

However, according to the report, it is Manchester United who are believed to be more willing to trigger a deal for his signature in the new year, as their search for more creativity in midfield reaches a head.

An earlier report in another French outlet, Telefoot, claimed this month that United are on the verge of submitting a €41m offer for the 24-year-old, who has been in red hot for for Leicester this term.

But the big question remains over whether Leicester will allow him to leave at the midway point of the campaign, especially as they find themselves to be shock title contenders.
