Liverpool eye former top-10 striker to replace Daniel Sturridge

Jurgen Klopp appears to have reached the conclusion that he can no longer depend on star striker Daniel Sturridge due to his excessive injury spells keeping him out of practice. As a result, the Liverpool boss appears ready to wash his hands of Sturridge and make a move for West Bromwich Albion striker Saido Berahino to replace him.

Per the Metro, Liverpool are considering Berahino as a replacement for Strurridge and could try to acquire him in January if injuries continue to mount. Tottenham Hotspur are also believed to be interested in Berahino and will reportedly offer £10 million and Andros Townsend for the West Brom striker.

Berahino scored 14 goals last season, tied with Olivier Giroud and Eden Hazard for sixth most in the league. This year, however, Berahino has frequently clashed with the coaching staff and has made just eight starts.

However, Berahino still shows flashes of scoring brilliance from time to time, and scored three goals in a four-game stretch earlier this season.
