Sky confirm Chelsea interest in South American wanted by Liverpool and Tottenham

Sky Italia have confirmed that Chelsea are interested in signing Paris Saint-Germain’s Ezequiel Lavezzi.

The 30-year-old’s contract with the French champions expires at the end of the season, and he is unlikely to be handed an extension having only made three starts for them in Ligue 1 this campaign.

Sky claim that the Argentine international’s agent, Alejandro Mazzoni, is in London today and could meet representatives from Chelsea as he weighs up his next move.

Lavezzi reportedly has an offer on the table from Inter Milan, who want to bring him back to Serie A. The forward first made a name for himself during three years at Napoli.

But Chelsea are in desperate need of attacking support for Diego Costa, and might be looking at short-term options with Guus Hiddink not likely to stay as manager beyond the summer.

Lavezzi has long been linked with a switch to the Premier League. Earlier this month, talkSPORT claimed both Tottenham Hotspur and Liverpool to be monitoring his situation.
