Arsenal cult hero training with EPL side as he eyes return

Free agent Emmanuel Eboue is currently training with Sunderland as he looks to secure a Premier League return.

The Ivorian international and ex-Arsenal full-back featured for Galatasaray until the summer, when he was released by the Turkish giants.

He may not have featured in a competitive match since the end of last season, but Sam Allardyce clearly sees something in Eboue and has invited the west African to the north east in order to train with the Black Cats.

While The Sun reports that the versatile veteran—who can feature at right-back, on the right side of the midfield, or even as a midfield anchorman—is only training with Sunderland in order to keep fit, the tabloid note that Allardyce has first-option to sign the 32-year-old.

Eboue had a mixed time at Arsenal, for whom he featured 214 times during a six-year spell. While the Ivorian endeared himself to fans with his wholehearted displays and his easygoing attitude, he was sometimes guilty of being too casual in his approach!
