Ex-Man City manager on short-list for vacant Premier League job

Manuel Pellegrini may not have to sell his house in England after all as a golden opportunity at a top Premier League club may be ready for him.

According to the Telegraph, Pellegrini has been added to a three-man shortlist to be named the new manager at Southampton. Per the source, the other candidates are former Nice manager Claude Puel and current Fenerbahce manager Vitor Pereira.

Last season Pellegrini led Manchester City to League Cup glory by winning the Capital One Cup Final over Liverpool on penalty kicks. Despite knowing he would fired and replaced by Pep Guardiola at the end of the season, he still rallied the team to a fourth-place finish and secured a Champions League berth.

In three seasons at Man City, Pellegrini won two League Cup titles and the 2013-14 Premier League title.

The Saints’ manager job was vacated this month when former manager Ronald Koeman accepted the job at Everton.
