Napoli have held firm on their decision to keep Kalidou Koulibaly under lock and key for a while now, but Chelsea are eager to bring the star defender into the fold and are even upping their offer to ensure they get him.
According to the Daily Star, Chelsea are willing to front as much as £29.5 million to Napoli in exchange for Kalidou Koulibaly.
Per Shoot, Chelsea are also planning on offering the Senegal defender a £48,000-a-week wage to make the move to Stamford Bridge.
The 25-year-old centre-back has made 60 appearances in Serie A over the last two seasons and helped Napoli secure a second-place finish and Champions League berth. He also contributed two assists last season.
Chelsea’s defensive front struggled mightily to preserve games last season, allowing the eighth most goals in the Premier League en route to a 10th-place finish on the table – after allowing the fewest goals just one year before.
