Arsenal priced out of signing Lyon’s star striker

Arsenal have cooled their interest in Olympique Lyon’s star striker Alexandre Lacazette.

The Sun states that the Gunners boss Arsene Wenger is refusing to pay the £50 million being quoted by the Ligue 1 side.

Arsenal are reported to have been keeping tabs on the 25-year-old for a lengthy period of time and that Wenger has personally watched him play for Lyon over the past few seasons.

Meanwhile the Daily Mail claim that Lyon have no intention of selling their star striker as they already raised £21 million from Barcelona who signed Samuel Umtiti. The report goes onto state that the players agent David Venditelli also denied rumours that his client has a release clause included in his contract.

Lacazette has scored 23 goals and provided four assists in 44 appearances for Lyon in all competitions this season. The 25-year-old has racked up a total of 72 goals in 172 appearances for the Ligue 1 giants since graduating from Lyon’s academy in 2010.
