Turkish Cup winners Galatasaray beat rivals Super Lig champions Besiktas in the Super Cup on Sunday.

The Lions beat Besiktas on a penalty shoot-out after regulation time ended 1-1.

Galatasaray veteran Hakan Balta put his side ahead in the second half but had his goal cancelled out via an own-goal from teammate Chedjou.

Former Arsenal striker Lukas Podolski started but had to be taken off at half-time for summer signing Eren Derdiyok.

Podolski scored the winning goal against Fenerbahce in the Turkish Cup which got Galatasaray into the Super Cup.

The Germany international striker who was called up to Euro 2016 this summer has now won two trophies since leaving the North London based outfit.

Podolski sent out the following tweet posing with the trophy after the game with his teammates appearing to be charging at him.

The experienced striker has already added more silverware to his cabinet than he did during his time at the Gunners.
