An early goal conceded to Swansea City’s Leroy Fer followed by a worrying Adam Lallana injury has ensured Liverpool’s Saturday has gotten off to a stinking start.
But it’s not just Liverpool fans who are concerned by the groin strain that has seen Lallana subbed off inside 25 minutes of today’s Premier League clash at the Liberty Stadium.
Looking at Twitter to gauge the reaction to Liverpool’s Player of the Month limping off, we realised that the majority of people who were posting about the situation were actually gutted fantasy football managers who had invested in the 28-year-old based on his red-hot recent form.
of course Lallana would get injured when i decided to make him my captain

Shrewd decision to bring Lallana in for #fantasyfootball pays dividends as he is taken off injured a few minutes in. #managerofthemonth

Lallana is normally my main man in fantasy football. He’s been taken off injured already, not going to be a good week in terms of points ?

Before today, Lallana had scored three goals and provided three assists in six Premier League starts this season.
He also scored the winning goal for England in their 1-0 victory over Slovakia last month.
Despite being 1-0 down at half time, Liverpool should be confident of turning this game around.
Daniel Sturridge, who came on for Lallana, has scored four goals and laid on two assists in his last six appearances against the Swans, while Liverpool have been victorious in six of their previous eight encounters with the Welsh side.
