(Photo) Forgotten Tottenham star emerges from Spurs shadows, looks in good spirits

Tottenham Hotspur centre-back Kevin Wimmer has only played once at club level this season and has missed out on seven of 10 matchday squads.

Nevertheless, the Austrian international looked happy and was all smilies as Tottenham’s club photographer took snaps at Thursday’s training session.

Wimmer has been used so sparingly this season after falling behind American teenager Cameron Carter-Vickers in Tottenham’s defensive pecking order.

Eric Dier, who was played in midfield last season, has even played at centre-half this term, making Wimmer’s path to the first team even harder.

Wimmer can count himself unlucky to be out in the cold at Spurs, having been superb in February and March when he stood in for the injured Jan Vertonghen.
