Manchester United legend David Beckham is set to return to former club Real Madrid as an ambassador, according to Marca.

Beckham joined Real Madrid in the summer of 2003 as the latest addition to ‘the Galacticos’. During his spell at the Bernabeu he added a La Liga title and the Supercopa de Espana to his already over-flowing trophy cabinet.

Marca report that the former England captain is set to return to the Spanish giants in an ambassadorial role as the club look to grow their brand in the U.S.A. There are few out there, if any, that would be of more use to Real in their efforts to do that than Beckham. He was the first ‘global star’ to move to the MLS and his name is renown throughout the footballing world in America.

The Spanish newspaper note that Real already have former stars Luis Figo, Ronaldo and Roberto Carlos in similar roles, as well as manager Zinedine Zidane. With the former team-mates set to link up once more, the Galactico legacy lives on in Madrid.
