Chelsea manager Antonio Conte has revealed when Kurt Zouma will return from injury, report Metro.

Zouma made his first appearance in a blue shirt since rupturing his anterior cruciate ligament for the Chelsea development side on Monday. Conte has been quoted by Metro explaining that the Frenchman will return to the first-team if he makes it through one more game unscathed: “we prefer him to play another game on Monday and if it’s all okay he will come back to us.”

The 22-year-old had surgery on his injured knee in February and subsequently missed the European championships in his home country. His return to the Chelsea side will be a welcomed by many, with Conte recently being forced to field two ‘false’ centre-backs in Cesar Azpilicueta and Gary Cahill.

The Chelsea faithful will be hoping that Zouma’s long lay-off will not affect his performances. Prior to his injury, he had emerged as one of the best in his position in the Premier League. On paper it looks as though he will fit like a glove into Conte’s back-three.
