Tottenham vs Bayer Leverkusen: Confirmed starting lineups

Tottenham face Bayer Leverkusen at Wembley stadium this evening in their bid to progress to the knockout stages of the Champions League.

Mauricio Pochettino’s side currently sit in second place in group E, one point behind AS Monaco and one ahead of their opponents this evening Bayer Leverkusen.

Erik Lamela and Toby Alderweireld are notable absentees tonight. The Argentine suffered a hip problem in training earlier this week, while Alderweireld is still recovering from a longer-term knee injury.

Pochettino has opted to start Son Heung-Min upfront instead of the struggling Vincent Janssen. Janssen has scored three goals for Spurs since joining in the summer, but all of them have come from the penalty spot. Harry Kane is still out injured.

Tottenham starting XI: Lloris, Walker, Dier, Vertonghen, Davies, Wanyama, Dembele, Sissoko, Alli, Eriksen, Son Heung-Min.

Bayer Leverkusen starting XI: Leno, Henrichs, Toprak, Tah, Nascimento Borges, Kampl, Baumgartlinger, Aranguiz, Brandt, Mehmedi, Chicharito.
