They were already without Eric Bailly, Chris Smalling and Antonio Valencia, but manager Jose Mourinho’s Man United injury problems are perhaps set to worsen still.

According to the Daily Mail, the Red Devils could be without midfielder Marouane Fellaini when they take on Arsenal next weekend.

The newspaper report that the midfielder is facing a race against time to be fit for the Old Trafford showdown against the Gunners, who can move nine points clear of their rivals with an away win.

Fellaini has been a key figure in the middle of the park for United so far this season.

The Belgium international has featured in nine of his side’s 11 Premier League matches, starting eight of them.

However, he picked up a calf injury on his last appearance for United – last Sunday’s 3-1 win at Swansea City.

Fellaini has a better pass-success rate that Paul Pogba this term. The former Everton man has also won more headers than any United player.
