Phil Jones in line to break his own record from last season

Posted by

Phil Jones’ talent has never been in doubt. Ever since he was a young player at Blackburn his ablity and physical qualities have made him stand out as an exceptional player. Even when he has been through tough periods of bad form he has always shown that he has the tools to be a top player.

The one thing that has truly held back Jones from establishing himself as a top player is his injury record. He consistently suffers from minor niggles that prevent him from playing his way into form and finding a definite place in the Man U side.

This is highlighted by the fact that Jones, should he start today against West Ham, will have started four games in a row for United. This is not a particularly impressive record, except when you consider it is a feat that the England international did not manage for the entirety of last season, thanks to a variety of issues. It’s only a small record, but it’s a step in the right direction for Jones and for his club.
