Thibaut Courtois made an absolutely phenomenal save in the final seconds of Chelsea’s clash with Sunderland this evening to ensure that the Blues took all three points back to London.
Antonio Conte’s side took the lead through Cesc Fabregas. The Spaniard fired home into Jordan Pickford’s bottom corner after some smart linkup play; repaying the faith that Conte showed by starting him.
It could well have been honours even after Patrick van Aanholt controlled the ball on the edge of the Chelsea penalty and fired towards Courtois’ top corner. The Belgian had other ideas, however, producing what is probably the save of the season so far. How has he kept that out?
