Manchester City could be set to scupper Chelsea’s summer transfer plans, according to The Sun.

The Sun report that Chelsea have already held talks over the possibility of signing AS Monaco midfielder Tiemoue Bakayoko in the summer. Bakayoko has established himself as one of the best central players in Ligue 1 this term, and has been able to replicate his good performances in the Champions League.

With Antonio Conte’s side a step away from qualifying for the competition once more, securing the 22-year-old’s services would undoubtedly be an astute piece of business.

However, The Sun report that Man City could be about to ruin Conte’s plans. The tabloid cite French outlet L’Equipe in reporting that Pep Guardiola is interested in signing Bakayoko’s teammate Fabinho in the summer.

They believe that if Fabinho leaves, the Ligue 1 leaders will block Bakayoko’s exit from the club – meaning Chelsea would have to look elsewhere. The two sides are battling for dominance on the field, and it looks as though they’re doing the same off it.
