Exclusive: Loaned-out Manchester United duo facing similar situations, says transfer expert

Manchester United currently have both Jadon Sancho and Mason Greenwood out on loan, and there’s a lot of uncertainty about what the future holds for the big-name duo.

Much has been speculated about what could happen next for Sancho, who moved on loan to his former club Borussia Dortmund in January, while Greenwood is also someone bound to continue making headlines after his improved form since moving on loan to Getafe last summer.

Speaking exclusively to CaughtOffside for his latest Daily Briefing column, transfer news expert Fabrizio Romano provided his latest understanding of the situation with both players.

In response to stories about Sancho not wanting to go back to Old Trafford after a difficult period under Erik ten Hag, Romano simply made it clear that he and Greenwood’s situations are similar, with internal talks set to take place ahead of a decision, while the feeling seems to be that all parties would be happy with permanent sales this summer.

Discussing the recent Sancho stories, Romano said: “Finally, we’re also hearing stories about Jadon Sancho not wanting to return to Man United after his loan at Borussia Dortmund.

“My understanding is that it’s similar to the Mason Greenwood situation – Man Utd will held internal talks to decide and we will see from there, but the feeling is that both parties could be happy with a permanent move this summer – but again, it depends on final INEOS decision plus value of proposals.”

It will certainly be interesting to see how much interest there is in these players, with Greenwood looking the more in-form of the pair, though previous allegations against him that saw him arrested and then suspended by the Red Devils surely make it a deal many clubs will approach with great caution.

Sancho, meanwhile, has endured a difficult spell on the pitch, looking nothing like the player he was in his first spell at Dortmund for a few years now.
