Everton striker Ayegbeni Yakubu is back after his little post-tournament African Nations mini-break, and after the Toffee’s 2-0 UEFA cup victory against Norwegian’s SK Brann he bigged-up his comrade, young pup Victor Anichebe. The youngster came on late in the game to score his fourth in the UEFA cup this season, and Yak thinks that his protegee can go straight to the top. Yakubu said:
“Victor is doing great. You can see in training that he is getting better. He can become the top scorer in the Premier League one day. The young players are doing so well and they are fighting for a place in the team.
“I give him advice if I can. We strikers stick together. I tell him things that he should be doing. It is good to have a player like that on the pitch you must encourage.”
So how far can the strong barnstorming Anichebe go?
