Sunderland have won 9 matches out of 13 at home in the English Premier League so far this season and manager Roy Keane has urged his team to continue this brilliant home form:
The games coming up at home are crucial but then all the games in this league are important.
I expect this battle to go right to the end. We’ve got to stay strong and keep believing – we’re in there fighting.
Our home form has been decent and with our fans behind us I’m sure we’ll give anyone a game.
It’s going to be tight until the end of the season. Some teams got a good result last week and are on a bit of a high, we’re on a bit of a low.
It’s up to us to bounce back now.
The Black Cats’ home record this season is better than both Liverpool’s and Portsmouth’s. Yet it is their away record (no away wins all season) that has drove them to within inches of the relegation trapdoor. Sunderland need to gather points on their travels should they want to play in the Premiership next season too.
