Star striker waiting on Tottenham offer

Bolivian striker Marcelo Moreno has been linked to both Spurs and Shaktar Donetsk the last few weeks and the noises have been pretty good for the England club. While Shaktar made the first move, it sounds like the young lad (and his handlers) want to see him playing in a more prominent league.

The latest quotes from his father suggest the player and club are waiting on ol’ Daniel Levy to pull the trigger,

“The first offer from Tottenham was declined by the Cruzeiro board because they wanted all the money in one go.

“Marcelo really liked Donetsk, but we are waiting as this new deal also seems important.

“There is a chance to go to Tottenham, but only if they pay the whole fee at once.”

Not quite a replacement for Dimitar Berbatov, at least in terms of being an established talent, but Moreno appears to be a quality youngster who would shore up the ranks. Assuming Spurs stop being quite so tight with the purse strings, of course.

Is he worth stumping up for?
