Setanta Sports reckons that Everton and Spurs are both ready to battle it out for Valencia’s Joaquin, who may well turn his nose up at both clubs and scamper into the arms of Roma. Joaquin’s agent Eduardo Espejo said:
“Clubs such as Roma, Everton and Tottenham are following him,”
“I went to England a week ago to listen to those propositions and today everything is in Valencia’s hands.
“I have spoken to the Valencianista club to tell them that the player’s first option is to stay here but not at whatever price.” (Setanta Sports)
There is no doubt that Joaquin would be a great addition to either squad. He would add another dimension to the Spurs attack (and may put some pressure on Lennon to up his game) and he would bring class to an Everton midfield. Everton boss Moyes is keen on his wide boys, but his past three – Blomqvist, Rodrigo, and Van Der Meyde have all – for various reasons – been failures, will Moyes be able to finally bag a world-class winger?
