Spurs £4m failure wanted by numerous clubs: Will he be missed?

Like most of the crosses he went to claim – this keeper will be missed!

Aston Villa are interested in signing Tottenham goalkeeper Paul Robinson, according to reports in the press.
The Express and the Star reported that Robinson, who has fallen out of favour at White Hart Lane, is tempted by a move to Birmingham, despite continued interest from Middlesbrough. (East London and West Essex Guardian)

£4m-rated Robbo has of course become a victim of his own reputation, and by that I mean he has become far to well-known for his much publicised clangers than his occasional good performances. The former Leeds man isn’t as bad as many would have you believe, however he isn’t good enough to play a part in Juande Ramos’ Spurs revolution.

Both Villa and Boro need keepers, Martin O’Neill appears to have given up on Liverpool’s Scott Carson and of course Middlesbrough have lost the services of veteran Mark Schwarzer. Fabio Capello will soon find himself having less and less time for Robinson, as a younger breed of keeper begins to get much needed top-level experience.

A move away from White Hart Lane is probably the best thing all around, maybe then Spurs will have a more stable defence and Paul Robinson can re-build his career elsewhere. What are Tottenham fans favourite memories during the four-year period that the Yorkshire lad stood between the sticks?
