With all the news circling around about Everton striker Andy Johnson leaving the Merseyside this summer for another EPL club, you’d think another rumour link wouldn’t come as a surprise to anyone. But with a Spanish club now coming into the picture, things could be getting a bit more interesting. That and the fact that the Everton player being linked isn’t Andy Johnson!
The Sun, all-knowing paper of the Western world, is reporting that Everton could have a fight on their hands as Atletico Madrid are prepared to swoop for Mikel Arteta and his fantastic passing skills for their upcoming Champions League campaign.

While I trust the The Sun as much as I trust my worst enemy, there are those rare occasion that the paper does know what it’s talking about. Arteta was a huge part of the Everton midfield last season and would probably be one of a couple players the club would hate to lose. But with the pull of Champions League football in his sights, you have to wonder if it might be enough to see him move on?
Could Everton supporters bear the thought of losing Arteta this summer? What would your valuation for the midfielder be if Madrid came calling?
