Could this really be true? This La Liga star has been targeted by many Premier League sides, but does Arsene have the upper hand?
Arsenal Football Club have been linked with a move for Sergio Aguero.
The Atletico Madrid striker has been sensational since moving to Spain from Independiente in 2006, and his agent admits there is major interest in him from a leading English club.
“I’ve had interest from a leading English team and they’ve asked me to approach Atletico with a bid,” Jose Segui is quoted as saying. “I can’t say more until I’ve spoken to the club about the offer.
“All I can tell you is that it’s one of the best teams in Europe and it’s not Chelsea.”
Early suggestions claim the club who are showing the interest in Aguero is Arsene Wenger’s Arsenal. (Fansfc.com)
One of England’s top clubs are poised to launch a bid for Atletico Madrid forward Sergio Aguero, the player’s agent has revealed.
At just 20 years old, ‘El Kun’ is one of Argentina’s hottest prospects – scoring 20 goals in 37 Primera Liga games last season – and despite the club increasing Aguero’s buy-out clause to 55million euros (£43m) even that will not be enough to put off one of the English Premier League’s top sides. £35m is apparently the size of this mysterious bid, and that seems a pretty amazing amount to invest in a player who is just 20-years-old. However, he is quite some prospect. Often compared to Messi, it appears that Atletico Madrid are not keen to sell their prized asset, but surely they will find it hard to turn down such a huge offer. Liverpool and Manchester United were also said to be possible candidates for such a bid. Would Arsenal really make such a large bid for a player with relatively little experience?
