The latest interest in another young Arsenal genius is further proof that the future of stylish football in north London is assured!
Juventus are keen on signing Arsenal’s 18-year-old youngster Fran Merida.
The club have sent scouts to track the Spaniard¦s progress at the European Under-19s Championships, although the midfielder has been troubled recently by a thigh injury.
Merida is currently on loan at Real Sociedad. He has scored once in 13 appearances. (Daily Mail)
Arsene has been quoted as saying that the 18-year-old Spaniard is ‘an absolutely amazing player’, so it seems highly unlikely he would even entertain the notion of a sale. Many Gunners fans can’t wait to see the midfielder in action next term, the £7m-rated former Barcelona youth has so far only been restricted to Carling Cup outings, but made a big impact whilst on loan at Real Sociedad last term, helping the Basque club finish just shy of promotion to the top tier.
Do Emirates regulars think that Merida can make an impact next term or could another spell on loan, maybe in the Championship, be a wiser move?
