Bobby Zamora yesterday left West Ham and joined Fulham, and the striker was seemingly unable to prevent himself from having a little poke at his former employers, revealing that the Hammers might be skint!
The Sun reports that upon signing for the Cottagers, Zamora was chattering away like a garrulous gibbon, spilling the beans that he could be the tip of the Icelandic iceberg in terms of players leaving the Boleyn Ground.
The Hammers’ Icelandic owners are being hit hard by the global credit crunch.
Striker Zamora, 27, joined Fulham this week with defender John Pantsil in a £6.3million joint deal.
He said: “Will other players have to leave? Possibly yes. I understand they need the money but how much is anyone’s guess.” (The Sun)
So will Zamora’s exit be just the beginning? West Ham had a thoroughly crapulous time last season with mass cripplings, and this season could be even worse with a potential player exodus!
