Having been linked with every footballer in known existence, this source has surprised us with a totally new target and one who could well be a great replacement for either member of Tottenham’s strike pairing.
Tottenham hotspur have now added Brazilian star Vagner Love to their long list of possible replacements for either Robbie Keane or Dimitar Berbatov in the event that either are sold.
Spurs have been linked with a whole host of strikers from Eto’o to Arshavin and you can now add the CSKA Moscow star to that list.
Sources close to the Brazilian star’s agent have indicated that the player is now ready to move on and experience playing in the Premiership.
Whether Vagner Love views Tottenham in the same light is another thing what is certain is that Spurs simply will not stop in their quest to import a top striker which lends credence to the fact that they are resigned to losing at least one if not both of their first choice strikers. 24-year-old Love is a very talented striker, an impish finisher who has been a huge success since his move to Moscow. However, after four years in Russia, reports have suggested he is ready to leave. Earlier in the summer, Manchester City were apparently interested until they opted for Vagner’s striker partner Jo instead.
A lethal goalscorer could well be what Tottenham may need if they lose Keane or Berbatov. However, one drawback in this report is that it would be hard to imagine the 5ft 7in man being the solitary front man, which is apparently how Ramos is looking to shape things at the club. Do Spurs think that £23m-rated Love could become a new addition?
