“We’re still in a relegation scrap” admits Tottenham manager: Surely not for much longer?

It was doom and gloom for Spurs supporters a month ago, but there’s been no looking back since Juande Ramos was replaced by Harry Redknapp. Three wins and a draw in the league have seen them catapult out of the relegation zone, although the gaffer isn’t counting his chickens yet.

Football365 reports that he feels Tottenham are still very much in a relegation scrap, with just goal difference keeping them out of the bottom three, despite their recent resurgence. However, while there seemed to be no way out of trouble under Ramos, fans will be confident that the team can continue to move towards the middle of the Premier League.

“I have told the team they have done nothing yet, one or two bad results and we are back with the bottom teams, one or two good results and we are closer to the top six.

“The relegation battle is involving 14 teams, with the top four out of it but everyone else in it.

“I have never seen such a close division but it is something I predicted that would happen at the start of the season.”

Tottenham supporters, where do you think the club will finish this season? The way things are looking, it’s not beyond the realms of possibility that Spurs could finish fifth, although fans will just be pleased to see them away from the drop zone, with the team in with a chance of winning the Carling Cup or FA Cup.
