Everton finally have someone to play up front! But is Manchester City striker the answer?

Although the Toffees have been performing very well without a striker in recent weeks, it was almost inevitable that Davie Moyes would try and recruit a front man before the transfer window slammed shut for the second time this season. However, the jury has to be out on this forward who arrived at Eastlands in the summer for a huge fee and has done little to live up to his price tag.

Sky Sports confirm that Everton have landed Jo on loan until the end of the season, giving the Brazilian a chance to show Mark Hughes that he’s really good, honest! Many Toffees fans might think that Tim Cahill and Marouane Fellaini are better alternatives than this lanky forward, does this move smack a little of desperation?

Everton have confirmed the capture of Manchester City striker Jo on loan until the end of the season.

The Brazilian joined City in a big-money move from CSKA Moscow last summer but he has endured a difficult debut campaign in the Premier League.

It’s unclear as to how much Manchester City paid for Jo’s services, although the official figure stands at £18 million. Surely if Everton make the deal permanent, we can expect at least half of that amount to exchange hands. Have the Merseyside club taken a chance on the Brazilian because they are desperate for a forward, or does Moyes see potential in the 21-year-old?
