£6m Shelvey Could be a Tottenham Star in the Making

Harry should make Charlton an offer they can’t refuse!

17 year old Jonjo Shelvey may well have signed a new deal at Charlton but If I were Harry Redknapp I would work out a deal that suits all parties to secure the future of the hugely impressive teenager.

In much the same way that the Tottenham boss purchased Kyle Walker from Sheffield United and then loaned him straight back to Bramall Lane, Redknapp should attempt to orchestrate a similar deal for the Addicks man.

Having seen the youngsters in League One action this term as well as when he was the sole shining light in the club’s doomed fight against relegation last season, I have to say the boy looks every bit a top player in the making.

He’s intelligent on the ball, quick and adaptable. He can play as the lone striker or behind the forward in the hole or indeed as an advanced midfielder, and he can already do this despite still being a good six months from his 18th birthday.

Harry is known to be a fan and will surely be keeping a close eye on the Romford born kid but perhaps it would make best sense to try to tie up the talent as soon as possible. A move in January that would see Shelvey loaned back to the Charlton may be the best of both worlds, hell he could even stay at the club for the following season in what would work out as a very intelligent loan deal that sees the player get the much needed experience he would need whilst simulataneously being signed up to the north London club, thus preventing anyone else from nabbing him.
