Tottenham are back in for Brazilian international striker Leandro Damiao and are preparing a £20million offer, according to the Daily Star.

White Hart Lane boss Andre Villas-Boas has been a long-term admirer of Leandro and tried to sign the frontman after being impressed with his performances for Brazil at the London Olympics.

Tottenham boss Villas-Boas had said at the weekend that he would not be signing any more players this month having already tied up deals to bring former Manchester United defender Zeki Fryers from Standard Liege and Schalke midfielder Lewis Holtby, who concluded his move on Monday.

But the Daily Star report that Tottenham are to make their move for 23-year-old Leandro and are ready to pay Internacional £20million to secure the signature of the highly-rated forward.

Villas-Boas has been left short on options up front with Emmanuel Adebayor away on international duty with Togo at the African Nations Cup, leaving Jermaine Defoe as the only recognised frontman at the club.
