MLS star to move to the Britannia Stadium.
Stoke City are set to complete the signing of American international winger Brek Shea from MLS side FC Dallas for £2.5million.
It has been thought that a deal to sign the 22-year-old has collapsed because of doubts over the winger’s fitness following a long injury lay-off, with Stoke wanting him to prove his well-being at the Britannia Stadium prior to completing a £2.5million deal.
But Shea watched Stoke’s 2-2 draw with Wigan on Tuesday night and is now set to move to the Premier League subject to agreeing personal terms and passing a medical at the Britannia Stadium over the next 48 hours.
“I think it is close now, and we are hoping that we can get that deal done in the next day or so,” Stoke manager Tony Pulis told the club’s official website. “Brek is a very, very exciting player, and one who we believe could go on to become a very good player for the football club. He has terrific pace, a very good left foot and he is capable of scoring goals.
“If you look at the clippings of him on the internet then you will see what he is all about. I believe he has all the tools needed to be a success here, so hopefully we can get the deal done.”
