Five In, Five Out: Potential Chelsea Summer Transfer Plans

David Luiz

A talented footballer, he has struggled to come to terms with the kind of defensive work needed to be a Premier League success and there is a chance David Luiz will leave Chelsea in the summer.

The Brazilian international has been tried in a holding midfield role by Rafael Benitez and he has proved a relative success thanks to comfortableness on the ball. But with plenty of midfield newcomers likely to arrive in the summer the switch of positions could be shortlived.

And interest from Barcelona could well result in former Benfica defender Luiz being offloaded at the end of the season with a new manager set to be appointed at Chelsea.

In

Edinson Cavani

All the talk has been about Manchester City when it comes to possible destinations for Edinson Cavani, who is expected to leave Serie A side Napoli at the end of the season.

Paris Saint-Germain have entered the fray to sign the Uruguayan international forward, but Chelsea would be mad not to consider making a move for him given their current problems and lack of options in attack.

With Fernando Torres continually misfiring, looking a shadow of the player we once saw tear the Premier League up and likely to leave in the summer and Demba Ba the only other option having only recently joined from Newcastle, Cavani could provide some much needed goalscoring prowess. He would cost £54million to purchase, which is his release clause.
