Saints facing battle to keep talented playmaker at St. Mary’s.
Inter Milan, Fiorentina and Juventus are all interested in a summer deal for Southampton winger Gaston Ramirez, according to The Sun.
Saints beat both Inter and Fiorentina to the £12m signing of the Uruguayan last August but the pair – alongside with Serie A Champions Juventus – have retained their interested in the talented 22-year-old.
Southampton manager Mauricio Pochettino seemed relaxed despite the interest in the playmaker.
“The interest in him is normal because he’s a young, strong player who is proving in England he can rise to the occasion,” said the Argentine after Saints’ 4-2 loss at Newcastle on Sunday.
Attacking midfielder Ramirez joined the South Coast outfit from Italian club Bologna in the summer and has made 19 Premier League appearances for the St. Mary’s side, scoring three times and adding a further three assists.
Ramirez has mainly operated on the left-wing for Saints but can play on the right flank or in the ‘hole’ behind the front-men.
