Chelsea’s Frank Lampard has praised the impact of England boss Roy Hodgson on the international team according to BBC Sport.

The midfielder has said that the squad is ‘very happy’ working under the former West Brom and Fulham coach.

Lampard hit his 200th goal for Chelsea at the weekend as he helped the Blues to a 2-0 victory over his former club West Ham at Stamford Bridge.

The England star now has another record set in his sights. He is just six caps short of reaching 100 international apperances.

Lampard has been in fine form for his club this season despite the on-going speculation regarding his future.

The player is in the last few months of his current contract and reports in recent months have been suggesting that the player has been told he will not be offered a new deal.

That news has come to the confusion of many, as Lampard continues to be one of the club’s best performers despite his advancing years.

He is the club’s top goalscorer in the Premier League this season having hit the back of the net on 12 occasions.

Despite his club woes, the player could not seem happier with the shape of the England set-up.

‘I’m enjoying being a part of it. It’s a very happy, comfortable squad with Roy in charge,’ he said.
