Marko Marin

The German international was a wanted man during his Werder Bremen pomp, impressing in Champions League action and representing his country at the 2010 World Cup.

Then he got the chance to secure a move to Stamford Bridge and he took it gladly. The pint sized winger agreed a deal in April last year but before he had even got a chance to prove himself in the first team the West London side had purchased a number of players who effectively curtailed his Chelsea career before it even began.

In came Eden Hazard and Victor Moses and pretty much left Marin out in the cold. Life at Chelsea must be very frustrating for a player that cost £7m.

Thus far he has been handed one solitary Premier League start and that lasted a little less than an hour, in fact Marin has been an unused sub on 19 occasions and has subsequently lost his place in the national team set-up and knows only a move away from Chelsea this summer would give him any hope of a spot in Joachim Low’s 2014 World Cup squad.
