Jeffrey Bruma

The young Dutchman moved to Chelsea as a 15 year old back in 2007 and progressed well through the ranks before given his first team nod with a Premier League debut in October 2009, by the following July he had won his first Dutch national team cap, things were going well.

A loan spell at Leicester City led to a season long loan deal with Hamburg where former Chelsea head scout Frank Arnesen clearly felt he could make an impact. Bruma has impressed in the Bundesliga and may well elect to accept a permanent move to the Imtech Arena.

Some may have felt that Bruma was being groomed to be a long term replacement for John Terry but the signing of Gary Cahill and David Luiz clearly left the youngster with little hope of being given a run in the Chelsea first-team and now at the age of 21, also with hopes of making a renewed push to cement a spot in the Dutch national team under Louis Van Gaal, he could well feel it safer to opt for regular first team football elsewhere.
