Blues Out in the Cold: Five Top Chelsea Talents Who Haven’t Been Given Chance to Prove Themselves

Kevin De Bruyne

Another Belgian talent the 21 year old attacker was signed by Chelsea back in January 2012 and immediately loaned back to Genk to complete the campaign.

The £7m joined Chelsea for their pre-season tour of North America and was then sent out on loan to Werder Bremen where he has been an instant hit. Indeed De Bruyne is one of the Bundesliga’s top assist makers and is now being hotly pursued by a number of German top tier sides, with speculation rife that he will used as a makeweight in the club’s pursuit of Bayer Leverkusen youngster Andre Schurrle.

De Bruyne told Chelsea’s official website that moving to Stamford Bridge “is a dream but now I have to work hard to achieve the level that’s necessary.”, the problem is, will he ever even get the chance? It seems unlikely. Not least because there are a host of talents, and young ones at that, already ahead of him in the queue, which begs the question, why was he signed in the first place?
