White Hart Lane club ready to challenge Liverpool for youngster’s signature.

Check in to Swansea City vs Tottenham Hotspur

Tottenham preparing a summer bid for Liverpool target Tom Ince according to The Daily Star.

The Blackpool youngster was strongly linked with Liverpool during the January transfer window but a move is thought to have broken down after the two clubs failed to agree a fee for the player.

Liverpool’s failure to secure the player’s signature during January may now mean they miss out on the player.

Anfield boss Brendan Rodgers is still thought to be keen on the player and is ready to renew his attempts to sign him this summer.

But Rodgers has been told by the Liverpool hierarchy that he will be given just £20 million to spend on new signings this summer.

That may limit how much Liverpool are able to offer Blackpool for the player, while Tottenham are thought to be prepared to pay as much as £8 million for the England Under-21 star.

Ince’s impressive form this season was recognised recently when he won the Football League’s Young Player of the Year Award.

Ince has stated that he is happy to remain at Bloomfield Road, especially since the club appointed his dad, Paul Ince, as manager.

But the player has expressed his desire to play in the Premier League and could be tempted by an offer from a big club.
