AVB eyes reunion with midfielder at White Hart Lane.
Andre Villas-Boas has reignited his interest in Porto winger Christian Atsu.
Everton and Sunderland are also keen on the 20-year-old winger who will have just a year left on his contract by the summer.
But Spurs boss Villas-Boas could have the edge as he gave talented Atsu – who has an £8million buyout clause – his debut during his time in charge of Porto.

It is no surprise to see Tottenham Hotspur linked with a signing a new winger this summer.
In January, Spurs loaned out both their back-up wide men, with Andros Townsend joining Premier League strugglers QPR (where he has impressed) and Iago Falque moving to Spanish Secunda Division outfit Almeria (where he has not).
Their departures left the north London club short of cover for Gareth Bale and Aaron Lennon and, predictably, the duo have missed Spurs last two matches through injury and currently have no return date.
Boss Andre Villas-Boas will know that his team are a completely different proposition without the speedy wingers, unable to stretch opponents or play their usual counter attacking game.
Porto’s Christian Atsu would therefore be a fine addition to the Lilywhites squad and would surely jump at the chance to be reunited with AVB, who handed the 21-year-old his debut at Porto.
Atsu is a pacey and skilful winger and is rated as one of the brightest prospects in Portugal. But the youngster has struggled to hold down a place in the Porto first-team and has made just seven league starts all season. The youngster did, however, appear from the bench in every one of the Portuguese side’s eight Champions League games this term.
