Turkish giants set to make move for Porto star this summer.
Galatasaray look set to join the race for Porto striker Jackson Martinez according to talkSport.
The Colombian striker has been in fine form for the Portuguese side this season and looks set to be at the centre of a transfer battle this summer as a number of top European sides vie for his signature.
Manchester United are thought to be preparing a bid for Martinez with Sir Alex Ferguson known to have been a long term admirer of the player. A move to Old Trafford for Martinez may however depend on one of Wayne Rooney, Danny Welbeck or Chicharito Hernandez leaving Old Trafford first.
Liverpool are also thought to be ready to make a move for Martinez. Anfield boss Brendan Rodgers is thought to be keen to add to his attacking options over the coming months. But Rodgers may find himself restricted by finances this summer after club officials informed him he will have just £20 million to spend on new players.
That could pave the way for Galatasaray to swoop in and sign Martinez. The Turkish giants are keen to pair Martinez up front with former Chelsea striker Didier Drogba.
Galatasaray are currently reaping the benefits of generous tax laws in Turkey which has allowed them to make a number of high profile signings recently.
It is thought they are ready to start the bidding for Martinez around the £37.5 million mark.
