Tottenham ready to tempt midfielder to White Hart Lane once more.
Tottenham are ready to make another move for Porto’s Joao Moutinho according to The Sun.
The White Hart Lane club are already preparing for next season, fresh from yesterday’s heart break.
Tottenham ended up losing out in the race for a Champions League spot as while they managed to beat Sunderland, Arsenal’s one nil victory over Newcastle was enough to provide the Gunners with a one point cushion over their North London rivals.
Spurs boss Andre Villas-Boas is determined not to dwell on the outcome and is looking to make a statement of intent by bringing in some high profile signings early on in the summer transfer window.
Part of the Tottenham boss’ thinking is that by doing so, he can show Gareth Bale the club’s ambitions in the hopes of persuading the player to stay.
That will see the club make a £30 million move for Moutinho, the player they unsuccessfully tried to sign last summer.
Moutinho is seen as the perfect player to provide some creative spark in the middle of the Tottenham midfield.
Big spending Monaco are also thought to be waiting in the wings and will make their move should talks between Spurs and Porto break down.
