Zenit Defender Domenico Criscito Unlikely To Move To Tottenham

The Italian defender is likely to stay with Zenit St Petersburg.

Domenico Criscito is going to stay at his current club Zenit St Petersburg according to Sky Sports.

The defender has been linked with a move to Tottenham and Fiorentina but the players agent has moved to dampen speculation about a possible move.

“Those who have linked Criscito with Fiorentina have only spread rumours which are without foundation,” said the players agent.

The 26 year old has impressed during his time at Zenit and is currently recovering from knee ligament damage.

The defender moved to the big spending Russian club from Genoa in 2011.

Tottenham may now have to move onto other targets with Criscito staying where he is.

The North London club are in the market for a striker and could be stepping up their interest in Barcelona’s David Villa and Valencia’s Roberto Soldado while long time target Leo Damiao is also a possibility.

As for Fiorentina, the club are set to sign Malaga winger Joaquin, with the player set to fly to Florence to have a medical with the club.

La Viola are currently trying to keep star player Steven Jovetic at the club.

Jovetic has attracted interest from many clubs throughout Europe and has recently stated his desire to move to a club that is challenging for trophies.
